Went out to the outlaw track last night to try a few things. Wired in a digiset to control the second stage and was gonna tune on the first stage as well.

First pass...spun the tires, ran a 6:37 @ 109 with a 1.43 60'.

Hot lapped it and tryed another one on the other lane, 6.27 @109 with a 1.40 60'.

Last time out it went 6.17 @110 with the same tune but with 7 psi in the first stage, lowered it down to 6.75 and it seemed lazy out of the hole, barely picking the tires up. Last time out 60' was 1.34-35.

Was gonna pull it back up to 7 and make another run on the first stage but brackets were coming up and I wanted to get a second stage hit with the timer. .8 out on the second kit it went a 5.96 @118. not quite as well as the last time out.

I will say it might have had to do with the air, it was hot, humid, and the air felt really heavy...just seems that with the tune up that I have I should be running around 6 psi on the first shot, 67/63f but when I pull fuel pressure I seem to slow down....

Am I that lean on the motor or is that just he way it is?

» LSM camshafts

Has anyone ever had any dealings with LSM camshafts? I'm thinking of changing cams and they were highly recommended, but they do have a big price tag to go with them. I'm not to fimiliar with them except for what some guys have told me. Also does putting bigger lifters(.904 dia.) and bushing the block really make that much of a difference as far as longevity in the valvetrain?

I was told that one of the troops had it and came a few times to the dragstrip with it.

» Hooking up two bottle?
info.gif Posted by Steve_Place On 8-10-2008 at 05:53 PM
I have two bottles in a Jerry Bickel mount on the passenger side of the car where a seat would be. To go from the two bottles up to the back of the tunnel ram, how would a person BEST run the line(s)?

"Y" them together as soon as possible and run one -6 on up to the second "Y" to each solenoid OR,

run two separate lines up to the solenoid's split "Y" OR what?

Both bottles have -6 fittings. They are about 5' to the back of the engine where the other "Y" fitting is.

The attached photo is the second "Y" at the back of the engine that splits to each solenoid. ( -4 ) The "Y" is actually about 6 inches or more above the distributor but the photo...

» N2O AFR on wideband
info.gif Posted by mike-kemper On 8-7-2008 at 04:43 PM
I have a Innovate wideband AFR meter. I was having really rich readings around 9.1 10.3 @ wot, with 61 fuel and 55 N2O. I brought the fuel down to 55 to a square setting. It moved very little, to maybe 10.5 to 10.9. I have a preset mechanical pump, that holds 6psi @wot. NA my AFR is 12.8 13.2. I know there is alot of controversy on the optimum afr for N2O... WHY? I would like to know a ideal AFR to shoot for. Can I run AFRs with N20 like I do NA?

» Digi-Set Question
info.gif Posted by ToddPerry On 7-15-2008 at 09:38 PM
I just got my digi-set timer in for my second stage. Most wiring diagrams show that terminal 1 and 2 are tied together from the first stage and pin 7 is grounded. If pin 1 is separated from pin 2 and switched power (to arm stage 2 ) is sent to pin one, will the digi set release when the first stage shuts off (or power to pin 2 goes away?

According to the diagram it should, but does it?

Thanks
TP

» Checking coils
info.gif Posted by Fred_Kowalik On 7-14-2008 at 03:57 PM
Does anyone have any info about how to check and see if the coils are bad or good. I have a couple of NOS pro race solenoids that wouldn't open during a race this weekend and when I checked them on a dry test( no nitrous to them) they would work fine, But when the nitrous was put to them they would not open. Bottle pressure was 950 at the time but I was battleing high heat this weekend and at one time I had 1300 psi in the bottle before a race. I did purge of pressure to get to 950 but they still didn't work. I think the coils may be on there way out but I'm looking for a way to test them. Any ideas?
